For iPhone 8 and newer models (iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, etc.):

  1. Press and hold the Side (or Power) button along with one of the Volume buttons until the slider appears on the screen.
  2. Drag the slider to turn off your iPhone. This action may take a few seconds.
  3. Once the device is off, wait for about 10 seconds.
  4. Press and hold the Side (or Power) button again until you see the Apple logo.
  5. Release the button, and your iPhone will restart.

For iPhone 7 and 7 Plus:

  1. Press and hold the Side (or Power) button until the slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider to turn off your iPhone.
  3. After the device is off, wait for about 10 seconds.
  4. Press and hold the Side (or Power) button again until the Apple logo appears.
  5. Release the button, and your iPhone will restart.

For iPhone 6s and earlier models:

  1. Press and hold the Top (or Side) button until the slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider to turn off your iPhone.

If your iPhone is unresponsive:

If your iPhone is not responding to touch or button presses, you can force restart it:

  • For iPhone 8 and newer models: Quickly press and release the Volume Up button, then quickly press and release the Volume Down button. Finally, press and hold the Side (or Power) button until you see the Apple logo.
  • For iPhone 7 and 7 Plus: Press and hold both the Side (or Power) button and the Volume Down button until you see the Apple logo.
  • For iPhone 6s and earlier models: Press and hold both the Home button and the Top (or Side) button until you see the Apple logo.
